Who are the commentators for Australian Open 2024?

Publish date: 2024-07-13

The first Grand Slam of the season is back with its 112th edition. The first round of the 2024 Australian Open starts on January 14, 2024, and the finals will be played on January 28, 2024.

The tournament was first played in 1905 and it became one of the four Grand Slam events in 1923. Its matches have been traditionally played at Melbourne Park on hard courts since 1988. Earlier, the site rotated between Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

The initial hype about the 2024 Australian Open was created due to the participation of Rafael Nadal. The 22-time Grand Slam winner missed the entirety of the 2023 season due to an injury that he suffered in the 2023 Australian Open and recently made his comeback in the Brisbane International. He was supposed to play in the 2024 Australian Open but decided to withdraw from the tournament due to a muscle tear that he suffered during his match against Jordan Thompson in Brisbane.

However, the tournament still has lots of fireworks, with the likes of Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and others fighting for the title. Most of the top ten seeds have been in great form lately and it gives hope for a sensational competition this time around.

Commentators and analysts are important elements in a tennis match that work as catalysts and enhance its excitement and fun. As the Australian Open, like all other Grand Slam events, is broadcast on different platforms, all of them have a different panel of commentators and analysts.

A special inclusion in the list of commentators for this year is the addition of Nick Kyrgios to Eurosport’s panel. The Australian tennis player will miss the tournament this year due to a lingering wrist issue and will instead work as an expert and commentator for Eurosport‘s team.

Here is a list of the commentators and analysts on the top platforms that will broadcast the 2024 Australian Open (including commentators, on-site experts and analysts):
