Meridian Police investigate double homicide near N. Cougar Way in Meridian
BOISE, ID (CBS2) — Meridian Police are holding a press conference today at 10am at the Meridian Police station as they investigate a double homicide in the 2000 block of N. Cougar Way in Meridian.
According to Meridian PD, on Sunday December 3, 2023, at 7:10 p.m., Meridian Police responded to a dispatch call in the 2000 block of N. Cougar Way, Meridian, Idaho.
Police say the initial caller indicated there was some type of domestic disturbance and they believed someone may have been shot inside the residence.
Upon entering the residence, Meridian Police officers and Ada County deputies discovered two (2) deceased adult females, one victim (33 years old) and a second victim (41 years old).
The victims were found different locations inside the house according to police.
Officers were able to identify a suspect and began a search of the area and were notified of a carjacking on Zircon Avenue, approximately 1/2 mile from the homicide scene.
An Ada County deputy in the area of Ustick and Venable, located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect fled the stolen vehicle on foot and he and police exchanged several rounds.
No deputies were injured and officers quickly set up a perimeter locating the suspect, who then committed suicide in the 700 block of W. Indian Rocks.
The Meridian Police Department will hold a press conference at 10:00 a.m. at the Meridian Police Department 1401 E. Watertower St. in the media room.
