Celebrities often come to the rescue of common people who go viral. This time, it was Mark Cuban who came to the rescue of this woman who had come under the fire of Matt Walsh. Matt Walsh, who identifies himself as a “theocratic fascist” bashed up a woman on Twitter (now known as X) who did not have children by calling her “stupid” and having a “depressing life”. Seeing this, Cuban could not restrict himself and came to her rescue.
Cuban wrote, “Says the guy who’s life revolves around Twitter/X.” The woman originally featured in the video has been receiving death threats due to the tweet from Matt Walsh. She said, “The way that his followers bullied me in the comments, reached out to me on social media, threatened me, was honestly abhorrent.”
Considering this, one would feel sympathetic for the girl, and realizing the consequences of what Matt Walsh had done, the Dallas Mavericks came to the rescue. After people blamed Walsh for the same, Walsh made another tweet that said how he did not do anything other than give his opinion on what appeared as facts to him.
Twitter flared up after Mark Cuban’s tweet
Mark Cuban, who is known for speaking up against extremist and propagandist people, did not shy away from speaking up and clearing his mind in this debate. He replied to a person named Scott Adams who wanted to clarify Walsh’s point of view.
The infamous Stephen Miller also tried to chime in his thoughts on this whole debate and played the UNO reverse on Mark Cuban, saying how Cuban too has a large following and that he should give advice to his people.
The response from the girl also gained some traction as she opened up about what has been happening to her ever since Walsh’s tweet.
Keeping all this in mind, it is important to look at both sides of the debate. One side says that she should lead a better life, settle down, and have children. The other does not give any advice to her and rather says that it should be upon her to decide what she wants to do with her life and that random people should not be giving advice to someone who did not ask for it. The debate will continue to rage on, for Twitter has become a battleground these days rather than an information disseminating platform that it was earlier destined to be.
