Goldie Hawn is an American actress. She started practicing ballet and tap at three years old, leading to her dancing and acting in musicals and through her teenage years. She was performing on stage at 16 and taught at her own ballet school at 19. In the late 1960s/early 1970s, she started her career acting in TV shows with Good Morning World and Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Her performance on these shows as a blonde with a bubbly personality let to playing similar characters in her early film roles. This typecast soon changed with her role in Cactus Flower (1969), which won her a Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, launching her as one of Hollywood’s leading dramatic and comedic actresses. After several popular comedic roles in the early 70s, she took time off for the birth of her son.

In the 1980s, she made a comeback with the comedy Private Benjamin, which she produced and starred in, which earned her another Oscar nomination. After a successful series of films in the early 80s, she again returned to the spotlight in the early 1990s. This included Bird on a Wire (1990) with Mel Gibson, Death Becomes Her (1991) with Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep, Something to Talk About with Julia Roberts and Dennis Quaid and The First Wives Club (1996) with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton. She is also known for her long-term relationship with Kurt Russell and her daughter, actress Kate Hudson.
