Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace Event: Release date, game play details and more
Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace Event is one of the most awaited events of the 2.4 update after Lantern Rite festival. The original event which was introduced way before in 1.4 update received an overwhelming popularity from the fans, however, to make things more interesting, the developers have added certain changes which we are going to inform in this article.
With every new update, MiHoYo announces new events or brings back those events which amassed immense popularity. Windtrace is one such event where players disguised as Rebels and Hunters can play hide and seek where the former hides and the latter has to find them out. This event has to be played in a Co-Op, therefore, if players do not have friends to play the event, they can select the Co-Op mode and take part in the event with other players.

Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace Event release date
The joys of fans knew no bounds when the developers had announced that the popular Windtrace event is going to return in the 2.4 update. With the update being already rolled out, it has been informed that Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace Event will take place from 13th January, 2022 and conclude on 27th January.
It is also important to remember that players with Adventure Rank 20 will be able to take part in this event. For Genshin Impact 2.4 Windtrace Event, more maps have been added which means players can wander about in a wider contested zone. They need to select their characters and also choose their Windwart arts to make perfect use of their skills.
NOTE: Kamisato Ayaka and Mona’s alternate spirits cannot be used
Game play details
Players need to choose where they wish to play as a Hunter or a Rebel. If they choose the latter one, they need to hide themselves, the longer they hide themselves, the more windtrace coins they can obtain. Similar process works with Hunters; however, they need to find out the rebels in order to obtain the coins. The character’s original combat style will be replaced with Windward Arts which can be obtained through favours.
Rebels can use the following abilities:
Normal Attack
- Lay Bait: Arrange bait in front
- Transparency: Temporarily enter a hidden state
Elemental Skill
Disguise: Tap to use randomly disguise as one of the specialized objects in the area. Whereas, holding will remove the disguise
Elemental Burst
Starstep: Movement SPD is greatly increased within 30 seconds of using the Windward Art
Hunters can use the following abilities
Normal Attack
Sensor Aura: Players will be notified once a Rebel moves, sprints, jumps or glides within the next 5 seconds, a marking pillar of light will be left at their current position for 5 seconds
Mysterious Hunch: Briefly show the directions where Rebels can be found
Elemental Skill
Capture: Dispel the disguise and capture the rebels
Elemental Burst
Imprisoning Curse/ Insight/ Hunter’s Intuition

As players cannot use the skills of Ayato and Mona this time, they need to select different characters for this event. Players will be able to claim Windtrace coins in order to exchange them for primogems.
