Former 'Southern Charm' star Kathryn Dennis arrested for DUI after 3-car crash
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) — Kathryn Dennis, a former star on the reality TV show "Southern Charm," was arrested Monday night for driving under the influence, according to an incident report from the Goose Creek Police Department.
Dennis was one of several involved in a three-car crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 and Stephanie Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they noticed Dennis appeared impaired, presenting with the odor of alcohol emanating from her person and glossy eyes.
Police then conducted field sobriety tests that produced enough evidence to suggest Dennis was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
Upon further investigation, officers found several mini bottles of Fireball, some of which were opened and empty, police said.
While police investigating the scene, Dennis claimed she had not drunk any alcohol. However, while at the Berkeley County Detention Center, Dennis admitted to drinking "way earlier."
Dennis also denied a breathalyzer test at the detention center. She was then taken toMoncks Corner Trident Emergency Room for jail clearance, where she, again, admitted to the doctor that she had drunk alcohol earlier in the evening.
Dennis could not recall when the collision happened, police said.
The TV personality star had a bond amount set at $1,456. She also has a mandatory court date set for June 4. In addition to a DUI charge, Dennis was charged with the transport of alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken.
Dennis appeared on the Bravo reality show from 2014-2022.
