Coco Gauff reaches career high ranking of World No.3
Following her phenomenal victory at the US Open final against World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff climbed up the rankings. She is currently positioned safely at No.3 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.
Coco Gauff faced Aryna Sabalenka in the final match of the US Open. The Belarusian automatically got pushed to the top position in the rankings following former World No.1 Iga Swiatek’s loss in the fourth round at Flushing Meadows.
However, Gauff defeated Sabalenka with scores of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final. This gave the American much-needed points to climb the ladder. She is closely followed by Kazakh Elena Rybakina on the list.
