The UFC saw one of the greatest rivalries clash in the octagon back in 2018. Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov fought at UFC 229 and broke all PPV records in the promotion’s history. While fans still remember the Dagestani delivering a crushing defeat to the Irishman, the UFC has just released some interesting bits from the fight never seen before.
The recent uncut video released by the UFC shows the unexpected trash-talking between Khabib Nurmagomedov and his struggling opponent Conor McGregor. Two instances from the fight stood out. One was the highlight reel when the Irishman tapped out of Khabib’s choke and referee Herb Dean had to push the Dagestani off of ‘The Notorious’. Khabib Nurmagomedov uttered something nobody ever thought they would hear from the mouth of the Russian.

The other instance was when they were between rounds. Islam Makhachev was amped his mentor up by pointing at McGregor, who sat down on the stool, saying he could not even walk. The Dagestani took a few steps towards ‘The Notorious’ and let out another “f*****g b**ch” before they locked heads again.
The build-up for this fight was one of the most intense buildups in the promotion’s history. Nurmagomedov had jumped one of McGregor’s friends, Artem Lobov, intimidating him with his teammates. McGregor flew all the way from Ireland, and attacked Nurmagomedov’s bus at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This ultimately led to one of the ultimate showdowns in the UFC where the undefeated Dagestani walked away with the submission victory over the UFC superstar.
